[salon] 718 is another portrait of a real storefront. The build started with references of the salon’s front: the black awning and signage, the dark trim and the large windows.
The facade was built and painted to match the shop’s dark, clean exterior, with the awning shaped and finished separately before being attached above the windows. Behind the glass, the interior was painted as a perspective scene, with the salon’s long wooden floor drawing the eye toward the back of the room so the space feels deeper than the model really is.
The finished piece was photographed outside the salon itself, sitting in front of the storefront it recreates.
