Indulge Kitchen Supplies is based on a real neighborhood shop, so the build began with photos of the storefront itself, studying the cornice, the window layout and the doorway.
The white facade was constructed first, with the cornice and window frames built up in layers to give the front its depth. Because the display windows are open, the interior mattered as much as the outside: tiny shelves were built and stocked with miniature kitchen goods so the shop reads as open for business when you look inside.
Once painted and assembled, the finished miniature was photographed in front of the real shop window, side by side with the building that inspired it.
